Why school should start later and finish earlier speech

Do you know what poor sleep can do to you? If not listen to this speech! (Still, listen if you already know.) Also, don’t go to sleep.

Firstly, no one likes to get up early to go to school! That’s obviously because you could be sleeping in or doing other fun stuff. Anyway, not having enough sleep can actually affect the way you act and it could even kill you! Having poor sleep drains your mental abilities and puts your physical health at real risk. Some other things that could happen to you are risks of heart disease, a risk of diabetes, mood changes, trouble with concentrating and thinking, you could even gain weight and lose your balance a lot. No one has ever been killed from poor sleep (that we know of) but all the other things that could happen to you, have happened to people before. Anyway, I think school should start around 10:00 or you could go to school whenever you wake up!

Secondly, school should finish earlier because you have limited time to live. And about 2340 days are taken up by school. (That's from year 1 to 13) If the lunch breaks are shorter, we could fit in the work and finish early in about 4 and a half hours to 5 hours. You could be sent home homework to do instead of some work at school. Some people have a lot of things on after school, so if we finished earlier you could fit everything in and have a bit of downtime. Some after school activities finish really late, which means you get to bed late and it is hard to get up in the morning.

One last question, can you please raise your hand if you want school to start later…… Great!

And that was my speech on why school should start later and finish earlier. Thank you for listening!
